GRINNELL, Iowa - St. Norbert College got its appearance in the 2026 Midwest Conference Swimming and Diving Championship underway with a pair of relays on a brief opening night at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.
The St. Norbert women are third out of nine teams with 74 points, while the men are tied for fourth place out of nine teams with 66 points.
Both the men and women competed in the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay.
The women's 200 medley took second, with
Alisha Draeger,
Ally Boyer,
Keyilah Justus and
Claire Sieber turning in a new St. Norbert-record time of 1:47.63. The 800 freestyle of
Katherine Thompson,
Sydney DeRung,
Sanya Wienke and Boyer was third in 8:12.54.
On the men's side, the 200 medley of
Owen West,
Jack Antonuk,
Anton Peters and
Estevan Salazar placed fourth in 1:35.77. The 800 freestyle quartet of
Dominick Azzolina,
Zach Hanse,
Lucas Kowalewski and
Andrew Tonkovic took fifth in 7:09.52.
