MADISON - St. Norbert College opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play in style with a 6-1 win over Edgewood College at Powless Tennis Center.
The Green Knights (3-9, 1-0 NACC) got things started by taking the doubles point with wins in two of the three matches.
Brett Daniels and
Jackson Harpt topped Jon Olafsson and Marek Woytasik 6-2 at No. 1, while
Charlie Keller and
Nolan Pearson defeated Justin Hutchcroft and Taite Thomas 6-1 at No. 2.
St. Norbert then won five of six singles matches. Daniels beat Olafson 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1, while Harpt tipped Hutchcroft 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2. Keller (pictured) trimmed Andrew Hoffmann 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3.
Pearson defeated Thomas 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5, while
Joe Pellechia blanked Ethan Towne 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
St. Norbert continues NACC play at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, March 30, against Concordia University Chicago in Countryside, Ill.
