AUBURNDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College won its second game of the weekend over SUNY Cobleskill, defeating the Fighting Tigers 6-3 at Lake Myrtle.
Four runs for the Green Knights in the second inning proved to be the difference after the game was tied at 1-1 after the opening inning. St. Norbert (2-5) scored six runs off five hits.
Trevor Reinhardt scored the first run of the afternoon on an error by Cobleskill after advancing to third on a wild pitch. The Fighting Tigers tied the game at 1-1 when they stole home in the bottom of the first.
St. Norbert retook the lead in the second off a Devin Geary single that scored Carson Krumrei to make it 2-1. Levi Crosswell and A.J. Kisting, who made it on base from singles, both made it home from two back-to-back balks to make it 4-1. Geary then added a fifth run shortly afterwards, scoring on a wild pitch.
Cobleskill got one run back in the third, but a home run from Reinhardt in the fourth put the game out of reach to make it 6-2 in favor of the Green Knights. The Fighting Tigers added one more run in the fifth.
Reinhardt had the lone multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Dylan Heier took the win for the Green Knights, pitching three innings and allowing three hits and two runs with five strikeouts and one walk. Matt Perry (pictured) earned the save, pitching two innings and allowing just one hit with four strike
