DE PERE – St. Norbert College has named Rob Huberty defensive coordinator and Stan Zweifel quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, head football coach Dan McCarty announced today.
Huberty arrives at St. Norbert after serving as the defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Dubuque in 2024. He was the defensive coordinator with the Spartans from 2018 to 2023. Huberty also served as defensive coordinator at Augsburg University from 2016 to 2018 and coached linebackers as a graduate assistant Concordia University-St. Paul from 2013 to 2016.
"Rob is exactly the type of person and coach to lead our defense moving forward," McCarty said. "His experience as a defensive coordinator at two private Division III programs as well as serving as a recruiting coordinator will make his transition to St. Norbert an easy one. Our football program couldn't be more excited to have Rob, his wife, Shauna, and daughter, Logan, joining our family."
Huberty, a Lena, Wis., native, played at NCAA Division II power University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2007 to 2011, winning national championships with the Bulldogs in 2008 and 2010.
A well-known figure in Wisconsin football coaching circles, Zweifel brings a glittering resume to De Pere. Zweifel was the head football coach at the University of Dubuque from 2009 to 2023, posting an 86-57 record. The Spartans won two American Rivers Conference championships with three runner-up finishes and twice played in the NCAA Division III Playoffs.
"I am thrilled to announce Coach Zweifel as our new quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator," McCarty said. "Coach Zweifel has 44 years of college coaching experience, including being a head coach at three different institutions. He is a legend of football in the State of Wisconsin and has made a tremendous impact on the game and the lives of so many players he has had the opportunity to mentor. He's a tremendous football coach, recruiter and even a better person. Coach Zweifel is a tremendous addition to our staff, team and our family culture of St. Norbert football."
Prior to his time at Dubuque, Zweifel was assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at Minnesota State University-Mankato for two seasons and assistant head coach/offensive coordinator at UW-Whitewater for 16 seasons. He was also head coach at the University of Minnesota-Morris and Yankton College.
