
GRINNELL, Iowa – St. Norbert College posted four new school records as the Green Knights reside in second place after the first day of the Midwest Conference Championship at Grinnell College's Osgood Pool.
The Green Knights have 239 points to trail first-place Grinnell's 277 points. Lake Forest College is third with 181 points.
Adelle Polzin finished second in 3-meter diving with a school-record 396.05 points.
Katherine Thompson (pictured) reset the St. Norbert standard in the 500-yard freestyle with a fourth-place finish in 5:13.73.
Lacy Geurts turned in a time of 57.66 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly during a time trial for a new St. Norbert best. The 200-yard freestyle relay quartet of
Megan Pierce,
Ally Boyer,
Alisha Draeger and Geurts was third with a St. Norbert-record time of 1:37.80.
The 400-yard medley relay of Draeger, Boyer, Geurts and Thompson finished second with a time of 3:56.64. The 800-yard freestyle relay of Thompson,
Sanya Wienke,
Ashley Jankowski and
Lexi LaCombe was third in 8:01.94.
Geurts was third in the 50-yard freestyle in 24.12 seconds, while Draeger was seventh in 24.57 seconds. LaCombe added an eighth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:20.33.
The Green Knights had three of the top eight finishers in the 200-yard individual medley. Wienke was fourth in 2:12.76, Boyer was sixth in 2:13.28 and
Sarah Kahl placed eighth in 2:16.37.
