STEVENS POINT – St. Norbert College dropped a pair of matches to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foes, falling 3-0 to UW-Oshkosh and 3-1 to host UW-Stevens Point.
The Green Knights lost to the eighth-ranked Titans 25-14, 25-20, 25-13 and to the Pointers 24-26, 25-19, 25-16, 25-19.
St. Norbert hit .043 against Oshkosh, with 22 kills and 18 errors in 94 attempts.
Mari Szews paced the Green Knights with seven kills, while
Casey Vaughan added three.
Keira Ashenfelter had 21 assists.
Kara Sowinski led the defense with 16 digs, while Ashenfelter and
Anna Kudick had five digs apiece. Szews registered the lone block.
Against Stevens Point, the opening set featured nine ties, the last coming at 24-24. St. Norbert forced a pair of Pointers hitting errors to score the last two points and take the deuce set. The Green Knights had trailed 16-13 in the set before going on an 8-3 run to take a 21-19 lead.
The Green Knights hit .204 against Stevens Point, registering 47 kills with 18 errors in 142 swings.
Lauren Borchardt had a team-high 11 kills, while
Alli Clark and
Alyssa Mills had 10 apiece.
Heidi Colburn had 34 assists and two service aces.
Colburn finished with a team-high 16 digs, with Sowinski adding 13 digs and Borchardt 11. Colburn also had three blocks, while Clark chipped in with two.
