STEVENS POINT - St. Norbert College traveled to Central Wisconsin to face No. 20-ranked UW-Stevens Point and dropped the non-conference doubleheader by scores of 8-0 and 5-2 at McCarty Memorial Field.
The Pointers jumped ahead in the opener with a run in the second inning, five runs in the third inning and a run in the fourth and fifth innings. St. Norbert had just one baserunner when
Calli Hellmer drew a third-inning walk.
In the nightcap, Stevens Point scored twice in the first inning but the Green Knights got a run in the second inning when
Karleigh Linssen's groundout scored
Lilly Haase. The Pointers scored two runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-1 lead. St. Norbert scored in the fifth inning when
Zoe Zasada brought home
Kathryn Bergin on an RBI single. Stevens Point got the run back in the fifth to close out the scoring.
St. Norbert had four hits, all singles.
Addison Race took the complete-game loss, allowing seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
