JACKSON - St. Norbert College continued Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with a pair of league dual matches, dropping an 8-1 decision Saturday at home to Concordia University Wisconsin before rebounding to pick up a 7-2 win Sunday at Wisconsin Lutheran College.
The Green Knights (7-2, 2-1 NACC) gained their only win against Concordia at No. 6 singles, where
Brian Coulter topped Kristopher Greenhaw 6-3, 6-1.
St. Norbert bounced back against Wisconsin Lutheran, getting early momentum by sweeping all three doubles matches.
Brett Daniels and
Jackson Harpt teamed up to beat Aidan Newberg and Asa White at No. 1 in a tiebreaker 8-7 (9-7). Coulter and
Joe Pellechia defeated Bryce Halvorsen and Zadic Torline 8-5 at No. 2, while
Anthony Michels and
David Vandenberg topped Connor Heezen and Jon Kannenberg 8-1 at No. 3.
The Green Knights took four of six singles matches against Wisconsin Lutheran, with three coming in three sets.
Daniels won a three-set match at No. 1 singles, beating White 6-3, 5-6, 6-2. Pellechia also won a three-set match defeating Tordine at No. 3 by a 6-7 (3-7), 7-6 (7-4), 1-0 (10-7) count. Vandenberg picked up another three-set victory with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 triumph over Kannenberg at No. 4.
Owen McDonough fashioned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Heezen at No. 6.
