AUBURDALE, Fla. - St. Norbert College extended its winning streak to five games with a 5-0 win over Greenville University to conclude its Florida trip at Lake Myrtle Park.
The Green Knights (7-8) got a combined shutout from
Luke Steebs and
Danny Heise. Steebs worked seven innings and allowed five hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
Danny Heise worked the last two innings to record the save, allowing two hits with one strikeout.
St. Norbert scored a run in the second inning.
Levi Crosswell singled to open the inning and
Will DeBruin followed with a double to bring Crosswell around to score. That run would hold up until the seventh inning, when the Green Knights added another run when Crosswell scored on a passed ball for a 2-0 lead.
The Green Knights broke the game open with three runs in the top of the ninth inning after two out and nobody on base. DeBruin tripled and
A.J. Kisting reached on an error to bring in a run.
Carson Krumrei followed with a double to score Kisting, and then advanced to third on the throw to the plate and scored on an errant return throw to third base.
DeBruin was 2-for-3 with a run and RBI, while Crosswell scored two runs.
