Fraser's Overtime Goal Sends St. Norbert Onward

DE PERE - St. Norbert College got an overtime goal from Liam Fraser to post a 4-3 overtime win over Trine University in a semifinal game of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup Playoffs at Cornerstone Community Center.

The Green Knights (21-6) advance to face Adrian College at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday, March 2, at Arrington Ice Arena in Adrian, Mich., for the Harris Cup championship.

St. Norbert picked up the win when Fraser got the puck out of the Green Knights' defensive zone and flipped the puck ahead to Dayton Deics, who was able to get a fluttering puck onto his stick as he gained the offensive zone. Skating in on a 2-on-1 opportunity, Deics dropped the puck back to Fraser, whose flick of the wrist beat Trine goaltender Kyle Kozma at 2:57 of overtime.

The Green Knights took the early lead when they scored a power-play goal by T.J. Koufis at 8:54 of the first period. Moments later, St. Norbert had to kill off 1:42 of a 5-on-3 power-play chance for Trine and did to hold its lead into first intermission.

Trine struck quickly in the second period, scoring 33 seconds in on Sam Antenucci's goal. The Thunder took the lead when Thad Marcola scored on a shorthanded breakaway for a 2-1 edge at 5:33 of the second period. The Green Knights got their only goal of the middle period when Braden Lindstrom used a Trine defender as a screen and beat Kozma at 8:14 to knot the score at 2-2.

St. Norbert took the lead 53 seconds into the third period when Logan Dombrowsky's goal from the doorstep put the Green Knights out front. Trine tied the game at 8:59 of the period on a rebound goal from Bobby Price.

Fraser and Koufis each had two-point games, with each posting one goal and one assist.

St. Norbert outshot Trine 36-24. Hunter Garvey made 21 saves for the Green Knights, while Kozma made 32 stops for the Thunder.

St. Norbert was 1-for-5 on the power play, while Trine was 0-for-3.
