DE PERE - St. Norbert College had its offense clicking on all cylinders as the Green Knights rolled to a 106-59 win over Dominican University in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights (4-1, 2-0 NACC) shot 64.1 percent from the floor, making 41 of 64 field-goal attempts. All 15 players who dressed for St. Norbert cracked the scoring column. The Green Knights also had an impressive 26-to-4 assist-to-turnover ratio and did not commit a turnover in the first half.
The game went back and forth in the early going, with Dominican taking a 14-9 lead with 14:18 left in the first half. The Green Knights countered with a 3-pointer from
Charlie Geske and a hoop inside from
Brandt Wilson to tie it with 12:09 left. A
Connor Pytleski layup at 11:34 and a driving conventional three-point play by
Will Stuckey at the 10:05 mark put St. Norbert up 19-14.
Following a Dominican basket, St. Norbert went on an 11-0 run on the back end of an overall 21-2 skein.
Cole Uhlenbrauck (pictured) opened the run with a jumper, followed by three consecutive baskets by
Garrett Grzesk.
Jaeden Grade's 3-pointer with 6:25 left put St. Norbert up 32-19 with 6:25 to go before halftime. St. Norbert got a 2-for-1 in the final minute on an Uhlenbrauck basket and a Grzesk trey just before the halftime buzzer for a 52-28 lead at the break.
The Green Knights continued to pull away in the second half, as the lead ballooned to 30 on an
Aidan Harrington layup for a 65-35 lead with 16:32 to play. St. Norbert held a lead of at least 40 points for the last 9:49 of the game.
Grzesk led the Green Knights with 22 points, while Nickolai had 14 points. Uhlenbrauck and Wilson had 10 points apiece. Harrington finished with eight assists along with six points, while Wilson chipped in six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Dominican shot 32.2 percent (19-for-59) from the floor and was 11-for-29 (37.9 percent) from the perimeter. Terrell Taylor had a team-high nine points for the Stars.
