Green Knights Sweep Spartans to Remain Undefeated

DUBUQUE, Iowa – St. Norbert College completed a weekend sweep over University of Dubuque, winning 5-1 after scoring four goals in the final two periods.

Sydney Zurawik got the scoring early for the Green Knights, scoring on just the second shot on goal in the game at 2:07 in the opening period. Maleiyah Streck provided the assist. Zurawck, who scored in the first game of the weekend against the Spartans, has now scored in three consecutive games and has recorded at least one point in every game this season.

Dubuque would even the game at 1-1 off a power play at 1:02 in the second period, but St. Norbert would find itself up two goals at the end of the period. Claire Healy and Naomi Balon would score just two minutes apart from each other, with Healy's winner coming off a power play at 6:33.

Courtnie Hogan (pictured), who provided an assist on Healy's goal, would score her first goal of the season at 17:40 in the third period off a Tristan Wicklund assist.

Jo Mahlum would provide one more goal and put no doubt in a Green Knights victory, scoring on an empty net with under a minute remaining.

St. Norbert outshot Dubuque 51-15. Both teams converted once on the power play, with St. Norbert going 1-for-3 and the Spartans going 1-for-5.

Hogan recorded the Green Knights' only multi-point game with one goal and one assist.

Freshman Keira Markell won her second game of the season in goal, making 14 saves. Dubuque's Savanah Wuitschick made 46 stops.
