DE PERE – St. Norbert College senior Patrick Oden was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced today by the conference office.
Oden, an Aurora, Ill., native and Nazareth Academy graduate, tied the school record for touchdowns in a game, scoring five on the ground in St. Norbert's 55-13 win over Lakeland University. Oden scored three touchdowns in less than three minutes to end the second quarter. He then found the endzone two more times in the third quarter, including his longest scoring run of the day with a 16-yard burst to put St. Norbert up 55-7. He finished the day with 216 yards on 30 carries, while also catching two passes for 24 yards.
Oden is the first St. Norbert player to reach over 1,000 yards on the ground since 2005, and currently leads the conference in rushing with one game to play in the regular season.
The award is the first of Oden's career.
