DE PERE – St. Norbert College women's soccer wrapped up the regular season with a 1-1 draw against Edgewood College at Schneider Stadium. The game was moved last night due to inclement weather.
Abby Thompson would get the Green Knights on the board off a penalty, scoring her fourth goal of the season at 14:32.
The Eagles would also convert a penalty just 10 minutes later, knotting the game at one goal apiece. Taylor Wilson would prevent Edgewood from scoring a second, making two saves in the first half.
The game would remain even the rest of the way, but Thompson would come close to scoring a potential winner in the 86th minute, as an outstanding effort to get past two defenders saw her shot hit the left woodwork.
Lilly Collins made four saves in relief during the second half, while Edgewood's Hailey Corcoran made one.
St. Norbert was outshot 13-4 by the Eagles, who also led in corners, 6-3.
The Green Knights will begin the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament on Saturday, heading to Concordia University Wisconsin in a quarterfinal. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
