ADRIAN, Mich. - St. Norbert College was stopped one game short of the NCAA Tournament with a 4-1 loss to Adrian College in the championship game of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Playoffs at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Green Knights (20-6-3) tied a school record for wins this season with their second-straight 20-win campaign.
Adrian took a 1-0 lead when Jocelin Hudanish scored off a rebound at 8:12 of the first period. The Bulldogs added to their lead when Une Bjelland scored at 1:23 and Reaghan Pietrowski a power-lay goal at 6:54 of the second period for a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Callie Wollschlager scored a second power-play goal for Adrian at 4:59 of the third period. St. Norbert scored its lone goal when
Jordan Moore scored off assists from
Gabby Holtz and
Bailey Brunnhoelzl at 5:39.
Holtz was one of two defensemen named to the Slaats Cup Playoffs All-Tournament Team.
Adrian outshot St. Norbert 35-17.
Brynn Waisman made 31 saves for the Green Knights, while Sophie Goldberg had 16 saves for the Bulldogs.
St. Norbert was 0-for-2 on the power play, with the Bulldogs going 2-for-4.
