DE PERE - St. Norbert College opened Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with a 7-2 win over Lakeland University at Green Bay Tennis Center.

The Green Knights got an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles when Brett Daniels and Joe Pellechia topped Evan Vorpahl and Alessandro Bianchi. The tandem of Brian Coulter and David Vandenberg defeated Ben Busalacchi and Robert Grimes 8-0 at No. 2.

Daniels blanked Vorpahl 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Coulter outlasted Bianchi 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) at No. 2, while Vandenberg topped Busalacchi 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3. Josh Brown claimed a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Grimes at No. 4, while Pellechia beat Ramon Wence 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5.

St. Norbert continues NACC play at 3 p.m. Sunday at Concordia University Chicago.
