Green Knights Split Again In Florida

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – St. Norbert College continued to use a big inning to fuel a split of a doubleheader, with the Green Knights falling to Mount St. Joseph University 4-2 before taking a 16-5 win at the Lake Myrtle Complex.
 
One day after posting innings of 15 and nine runs in a 26-1 win over Curry College, the Green Knights (4-6) scored nine runs in the first inning to take control of the nightcap and salvage a split.
 
St. Norbert got the second game started with a two-run double from Sebastien Dubois and Adam Denniston followed with a two-run single for a 4-0 lead. Devin Geary had a sacrifice fly, and then Denniston scored on a balk. Caden Uhlenbrauck then hit a two-run triple and came around to score a hitter later to finish the nine-run rally.
 
Geary had a second sacrifice fly in the second inning. Mount St. Joseph scored three runs in the top of the third inning, but the Green Knights got two runs back on a Trevor Reinhardt RBI double and a Dennison run-scoring grounder. Reinhardt added another RBI double in the fourth inning. St. Norbert added three runs in the fifth inning when Geary was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Nathan Rodriguez hit an RBI groundout and Uhlenbrauck brought in a run with a single. Ben Boda's RBI double in the sixth closed out the scoring.
 
Uhlenbrauck was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI, while Reinhardt was 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Denniston was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Cole Bzdawka got the win on the mound, allowing three hits with four walks and four strikeouts in four innings.
 
In the opener, St. Norbert took a 2-0 lead with single runs in the second and third innings. Carson Krumrei drove in a run with a single in the second inning, while Uhlenbrauck's sacrifice fly in the third brought home Geary. The Lions scored three unearned runs in the fourth inning and added a run in the fifth.
 
Krumrei was 2-for-3 for the Green Knights, who had six hits. Jason Schroeder took the loss, allowing one earned run in four-plus innings while yielding six hits and one walk with five strikeouts.
