DE PERE - St. Norbert College couldn't slow down UW-Eau Claire from the perimeter and dropped a 74-63 non-conference decision at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Blugolds canned 13 of 29 (44.8 percent) of their three-point field-goal attempts to rally from an early deficit.
St. Norbert jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after 3-pointers by
Casey Jepson and
Kalina Winslow. The Green Knights led 10-4 after a
Casey Jepson hoop with 6:17 left in the the period, but Eau Claire answered with a 15-0 run behind a pair of 3-pointers from Anna Koth and a Lucia Hauge conventional three-point play.
Kat Miller's trey brought St. Norbert back to within 19-15 after the first 10 minutes.
The Green Knights got to within 22-21 with 8:37 left in the second quarter on a
Taylor Thiry conventional three-point play, but Eau Claire 3s from Kyla Overskei and Brianna Nelson boosted the lead back to seven. Eau Claire led 42-32 at halftime.
St. Norbert trailed in the teens in the third quarter before making a late fourth-quarter rally. St. Norbert went on a 7-0 run to get to within 66-56 with 5:04 left on a Thiry hoop, but Overskei's 3 was the dagger with 4:39 left.
The Green Knights shot 41.8 percent 923-for-55) from the floor. Jepson had a team-high 15 points, while Morrisey had 13 points and six assists. Thiry added 11 points.
Eau Claire shot 45.9 percent (28-for-61) from the floor overall and held a 38-26 rebounding advantage. Nelson had 21 points, while Koth and Overskei had 14 points apiece.
