
DE PERE - The St. Norbert College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics 2023 Hall of Fame Class has grown by seven individuals.
Inductees are
Tim Bald (athletics director),
Peter Bernardy (men's soccer),
Steph Brunette (softball),
Cody Craig (football),
Jessica Schadrie (women's soccer),
Emily Schudrowitz (women's track and field/cross country) and
Adam Sedgwick (men's hockey).
Bald was the athletics director from 2004 to 2021. The Green Knights won 79 conference titles and qualified for 63 NCAA Division III Tournaments under his supervision, while also winning five NCAA Division III team national championships and five more individual national crowns. St. Norbert added women's hockey, men's and women's swimming and men's volleyball to its sports offerings in his tenure, while Schneider Stadium opened in 2010 and Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center was remodeled in 2017.
Bernardy, a 2006 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's soccer from 2002 to 2005. He was Midwest Conference Player of the Year and a first-team All-North Central Region selection in 2005. Bernardy is St. Norbert's career leader in assists with 31, which is fourth in Midwest Conference history. He started all 77 of his team's matches in his career, with the Green Knights winning Midwest Conference championships and qualifying for the NCAA Division III Tournament in each of his four seasons.
Brunette, a 2013 graduate, was a three-year letterwinner in softball from 2011 to 2013. She was Midwest Conference North Division Player of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013, with the Green Knights winning the Midwest Conference title in 2012. A three-time first-team All-MWC North Division selection, Brunette finished with a St. Norbert-record career batting average of .477, with 187 hits in 392 at bats. She had a season-best batting average of .535 (77-for-144) in 2011.
Craig, a 2008 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in football from 2004 to 2007. A first-team All-Midwest Conference selection in 2007, Craig is second in St. Norbert history in career passing yards (7,181), touchdown passes (70) and passing completions (507). He also holds the school record in season passing yards with 2,755 and is the only St. Norbert quarterback to throw for 30 touchdowns in a season. The Green Knights won Midwest Conference titles in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Schadrie, a 2010 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in women's soccer from 2006 to 2009. She was the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008 and was a four-time first-team All-Midwest Conference selection. Schadrie is third in career scoring at St. Norbert with 138 points, scoring 62 goals and 14 assists. She scored 22 goals in 2008, the most in a season by a St. Norbert player other than Katie Vanden Avond. The Green Knights captured the Midwest Conference title in 2008.
Schudrowitz, a 2012 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in women's track and field from 2009 to 2012 and lettered in cross country in 2011. She won the NCAA Division III national championship in the 800-meter run at the 2010 indoor and 2012 outdoor championships. Qualifying for NCAA Division III national championship events 10 times, Schudrowitz won a combined a total of 18 Midwest Conference indoor and outdoor championships. She was also a first-team Academic All-American in 2012 and a second-team Academic All-American in 2011.
Sedgwick, a 2001 graduate, was a four-year letterwinner in men's hockey from 1998 to 2001. Fifth on St. Norbert's career scoring list with 145 points, Sedgwick was a first-team All-American in 2001 after earning second-team honors in 1999 and 2000. The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year in 2001, he was a first-team All-NCHA choice in 1999, 2000 and 2001. He was also an Academic All-NCHA choice in 2000. The Green Knights won NCHA regular-season and Peters Cup titles in 1998 and 1999 and played in the NCAA Division III Tournament in both years.
The Class of 2023 brings the total enshrined in the St. Norbert Athletics Hall of Fame at 164 persons. The Hall of Fame Induction will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 as part of Homecoming weekend. Details and ticket information on the Hall of Fame Banquet can be found
