MEQUON - St. Norbert College lost its first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match of the season, dropping a 4-2 decision to Concordia University Wisconsin at Fitting Field.
The Green Knights (5-5, 4-1 NACC) had battled the Falcons (7-1-2, 4-0-1) to a 2-2 tie through 70 minutes until the host broke through with a pair of decisive goals late.
Selena Esten scored markers at 78:18 and 84:17 to provide the difference for Concordia.
The Falcons got on the board first when Karoline Haugland scored at 10:04. The Green Knights countered with an unassisted goal by
Melanie Simon at 26:42. Those two goals held up going into halftime deadlocked at 1-1.
Concordia scored at 64:16 on a goal by Isabel Downs, but
Abby Thompson responded for the Green Knights with a score at 69:01 off a
Haley Leadingham assist to tie the game at 2-2. Esten's two goals followed.
The Green Knights outshot Concordia 25-17, but the Falcons' Brooke Braga made 13 saves.
Lilly Collins made three stops for the Green Knights.
Leadingham had nine shots to lead St. Norbert, while Thompson had six.
