MEQUON - St. Norbert College wrapped up the 2022 season with a third-place finish in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament with a 12-7 loss to Edgewood College at Kapco Park.
The Green Knights, whose season ended 19-19, won their first two games before finishing the NACC Tournament 2-2.
St. Norbert got on the board early with a run in the bottom of the first inning.
Luke Follmann's single drove in
Adam Cootway, who walked with two outs and nobody on. Edgewood responded with a four-run third inning to take a 4-1 lead, but the Green Knights responded with four runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-4 lead.
Nick Volz tied the game at 4-4 with a three-run double into the left-field corner. Dubois then singled in Volz to push St. Norbert ahead.
Edgewood tied the game at 5-5 with a run in the top of the fifth, and the Eagles then took the lead for good with three unearned runs in the top of the sixth inning. The Green Knights got a run back in the seventh on a Follmann RBI single, but Edgewood salted away with the win with three runs in the eighth and one run in the ninth.
Jack Ponx's RBI groundout to drive in Cootway, who led off the bottom of the ninth with a triple, accounted for St. Norbert's final run.
St. Norbert finished with 11 hits. Dubois was 3-for-4, while Follmann was 3-for-5 with two RBI. Cootway was 2-for-2 with three runs scored, with a double and triple.
Noah Lindsley took the loss, allowing one earned run on five hits in 3 1/3 innings pitched of relief.
