CHICAGO - St. Norbert College finished off a four-game weekend sweep in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference play with wins of 11-5 and 11-7 over Illinois Institute of Technology at Ed Glancy Field.
The Green Knights (9-9, 6-2 NACC) posted 25 hits in the doubleheader to power the sweep.
Illinois Tech got an early 1-0 in the opener with a run in the bottom of the third inning. St. Norbert answered in the fourth on a
Tommy Sheehan sacrifice fly, but the Scarlet Hawks scored again in the fourth to retake a one-run lead. St. Norbert broke the game open with a six-run sixth on four hits.

Caden Uhlenbrauck tied the score 2-2.
Eric Kramer then followed with a run-scoring single. An infield error on a
Sebastien Dubois grounder then cleared the bases to bring in three runs.
Trevor Reinhardt then doubled in Dubois for a 7-2 lead.
The Green Knights added single tack-on runs in the seventh and eighth. Volz had a run-scoring double in the seventh and
Isaac Gerhardt forced home a run with a bases-loaded walk in the eighth. The Scarlet Hawks cut the deficit to 9-5 with three runs in the bottom of the eight, but St. Norbert responded with two runs in the top of the ninth on run-scoring singled by
Adam Cootway and Dubois to salt away the win.
Cootway was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, while Volz was 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and two doubles. Uhlenbrauck was 2-for-3 with two runs scored. All nine St. Norbert starters had at least one hit. Reinhardt worked eight innings for the win, scattering nine hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
St. Norbert built a big early lead in the nightcap. The Green Knights got three runs in the second inning on a run-scoring groundout by
Alex Perez, an RBI single by
Keagan McCarthy and a run-scoring single from Kramer. St. Norbert added four runs in the third inning on a two-run single from Uhlenbrauck, a Perez RBI single and a Volz sacrifice fly. St. Norbert pushed ahead 9-0 in the fifth, scoring twice on a Volz two-run double.
Illinois Tech got two runs in the fifth but the Green Knights got those runs back in the sixth on a two-run home run by Uhlenbrauck to push ahead 11-2. The Scarlet Hawks would score once in the sixth, twice in the seventh and twice in the eighth to get to within 11-7, but did not mount a serious threat in the ninth inning.
Uhlenbrauck was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and four runs batted in. Volz was 3-for-4 with three runs batted in, while Perez was 2-for-5 with two runs batted in.
Aiden Trusky picked up the win, allowing three earned runs in seven innings pitched with one walk and four strikeouts.
