DE PERE - St. Norbert College had little trouble finishing off a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association series sweep of Concordia University Wisconsin with an 8-0 win at Cornerstone Community Center.
The Green Knights (7-2-1, 6-0 NCHA) would get a pair of
Michael McChesney goals in the first period to stake a 2-0 lead, with the markers coming at 5:28 and 15:01.
St. Norbert broke the game open with four second-period goals.
Adam Stacho scored at 4:29, followed by a
T.J. Koufis score at 10:29.
Liam Fraser then added a power-play goal at 12:28, followed by another Koufis score at 19:26.
Michael Spethmann scored 18 seconds into the third period and
Braden Lindstrom scored at 17:45 of the third period to close out the scoring.
McChesney had two goals and two assists for a four-point game. Koufis had two goals and one assist for a three-point game. Lindstrom and Fraser each had one goal and one assist for two points.
Jack Hillman,
Ben Schmidling and
Max Brainin all had two assists apiece.
St. Norbert outshot Concordia 34-14.
Colby Entz made 14 saves for St. Norbert to post the shutout. Cole Shane had 15 saves and Liam McGarva 11 stops in split time for the Falcons.
St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Concordia was 0-for-4.
