DE PERE - St. Norbert College connected on just 35.2 percent on its field-goal attempts and suffered a 68-50 loss to UW-Oshkosh in a non-conference game at Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center.
The Green Knights (6-4) made just 19 of 54 field-goal attempts and were outrebounded 39-20.
Oshkosh (8-3), ranked No. 19 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, opened the game with a 9-0 lead. St. Norbert went on a 13-6 run to get to within 15-13 with 9:59 left in the half.
Michael Payant had a pair of 3-pointers sandwiched around a
Kyle Krueger hoop to key the run. A
Connor Beauchamp 3-pointer with 6:38 left brought St. Norbert to within 21-18, but the Titans went on a 10-0 run over the next 2:30 to take a 31-18 lead. Oshkosh led 34-25 at halftime.
St. Norbert hung around in the second half and trailed 56-48 with 5:11 to go after 3-pointers by
Jamison Nickolai and
Brandt Wilson. The Green Knights were still within 58-50 with 4:12 left after an
Evan Glaser basket, but the Titans scored the last 10 points of the game to pull away.
Michael Payant led St. Norbert with 12 points, while
Carter Gebler added 11 points with four assists.
Oshkosh, which shot 52.1 percent (25-for-48) from the floor, was led by 19 points from Hunter Plamann. Levi Borchert added 16 points and 11 rebounds.
