ROCKFORD, Ill. - St. Norbert College held Rockford University to just 20 points over the final three quarters to post a 65-30 win in a Northertn Athletics Collegiate Conference win at Seaver Gym.

The Green Knights (7-1, 4-0 NACC) never trailed, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first 3 1/2 minutes. Kaycee Gierczak scored eight points during the run, with Chloe Gruszynski adding the other basket. St. Norbert would settle on a 20-10 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

St. Norbert shot just 2-for-14 (14.3 percent) from the floor in the second quarter and only added two points to its lead, which stood at 30-18 at halftime.

The Green Knights didn't waste much time asserting themselves to open the third quarter, going on a quick 11-0 run. Gruszynski canned a 3-pointer and Gierczak and Emma Morrisey followed with baskets. Gruszynski and Natalie Cerrato then canned hoops, the latter giving St. Norbert a 41-18 lead with 4:54 left in the period. Rockford got a basket and the Green Knights then scored the next 13 points to see their lead balloon to 53-20 with 37 seconds left in the quarter. Cerrato scored six points during that run.

St. Norbert never let its lead drop below 32 points during the fourth quarter.

The Green Knights finished shooting 40.8 percent (20-for-49) from the floor and were 22-for-30 (73.3 percent) at the free-throw line. Gruszynski finished with a game-high 18 points, while Gierczak added 17 points, nine rebounds and four steals.

Rockford shot 25 percent (12-for-48) from the floor and committed 24 turnovers. Audrina Terhune had a team-high 11 points for the Regents.
