LAKE FOREST, Ill. - St. Norbert College found itself on the short end of a one-goal game as the Green Knights dropped a 3-2 decision to Lake Forest College in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association game at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
The Green Knights (12-5, 6-2) won the series opener over the Foresters (7-7, 7-1) on Friday by a 2-1 count.
Lake Forest took a 1-0 lead after one period when Abby Meyer scored at 17:54 of the first period. The Green Knights battled to a 1-1 tie after two periods, with
Morgan Olson scoring at 19:11 of the seconds period. Olson's goal was her 17th of the season, tying Ali Parker's school record set in 2013-14.
The Foresters briefly took a 2-1 lead on Lexi Nguyen's goal at 11:37, but
Kelsey Ross cashed in a St. Norbert power-play chance with her fourth goal of th e season at 13:38. Lake Forest would counter at 15:04 on a marker by Olyvia Opsahl.
St. Norbert had 74 seconds of extra-attacker time but could not draw even.
Lake Forest outshot St. Norbert 29-26. Hannah Turnage made 24 saves for the Foresters, while
Brynn Waisman made 26 stops for the Green Knights.
St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Lake Forest was 0-for-4.
