St. Norbert College Enters the NACC Era

NACC-SNCDE PERE – St. Norbert College is excited to join the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference as its 14th full-time member, effective today.

St. Norbert was accepted as a full-time NACC member on April 3, 2019 and then had a two-year exit window from the Midwest Conference, of which it had been a full-time member since 1983.

"St. Norbert College is pleased to officially join the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference as its 14th full-time member," St. Norbert athletics director Cam Fuller said. "The NACC offers a condensed geographic footprint that allows our student-athletes a more integrated college experience. We are excited for the competition that awaits our sport programs."

The NACC, of which St. Norbert was already an affiliate member for men's and women's golf and men's volleyball, consists of 13 other schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. Wisconsin members include Alverno College, Milwaukee School of Engineering and Wisconsin Lutheran College (all of Milwaukee), Concordia University Wisconsin (Mequon), Edgewood College (Madison), Lakeland University (Plymouth) and Marian University (Fond du Lac). Illinois members include Concordia University Chicago and Dominican University (both of River Forest), Aurora University (Aurora), Benedictine University (Lisle), Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago) and Rockford University (Rockford). St. Norbert is already partners in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with MSOE, Concordia Wisconsin, Marian and Aurora.

The Green Knights won 125 Midwest Conference championships in 14 different sports while appearing in 69 NCAA Division III Tournaments after joining the league full-time. St. Norbert also won 21 Midwest Conference All-Sports Trophies – 16 for women and five for men – despite not fielding men's and women's swimming until 2018-19.

St. Norbert will reacquaint itself with long-running series against NACC schools dating prior to World War II. The Green Knights began their men's basketball series with Concordia Wisconsin in 1924-25, with Lakeland in 1932-33 and with MSOE in 1933-34.

St. Norbert has a 23-sport athletics program, with 19 of those championships crowned under NACC supervision.
